I worked as a UX designer for Kuaishou for two years, with one year focused on the recruitment feature in the Live Streaming department. My role involves collaborating with various team roles to clarify requirements, deliver user-centered experiences, and create clear prototypes.
Kuaishou, a leading short video platform and Douyin's(Tik Tok) top competitor in China, employs over 30,000 people and has 500 million monthly active users. The Live Streaming department's recruitment function facilitates communication between companies and job seekers.
The project aims to standardize company-influencer collaboration through a payment feature, helping companies recruit talent, increasing influencers' income, and aiding job seekers in finding jobs.

Problems
China's blue-collar job market is vast, with companies urgently needing to recruit large numbers of workers. However, blue-collar job seekers have limited access to information channels, making it difficult for them to find jobs outside of their personal networks. Kuaishou offers live-streaming recruitment sessions to help companies showcase their work environment and benefits. However, due to a lack of experience in live streaming, companies often fail to meet their recruitment needs. Some companies have started to hire professional influencers to conduct recruitment on their behalf, paying a commission fee. While this approach is effective, it raises concerns about transaction security.
Therefore, recruiters and influencers need Kuaishou as a third-party platform to help meet their needs and ensure secure transactions.
1. Job seekers often lack the skills to efficiently search for and filter information online, and learning new job search software presents a high barrier for them.
2. Companies using their own accounts for recruitment often have few initial followers, resulting in low traffic. Additionally, internal staff may lack the expertise to effectively promote through live streaming.
3. The lack of a third-party regulator in collaborations between companies and influencers leads to unsecured transactions and increases the risk of contract breaches, poor service, and disputes.
Solutions
We have taken this opportunity to create the Kuaishou Recruitment Platform Payment Feature: a platform that helps recruiters and influencers establish transaction rules and conduct secure transactions. This feature aims to help companies enhance their exposure and achieve recruitment goals, expand income channels for influencers, and make it easier for job seekers to find employment.
1. Simplifying the connection between job seekers and companies.
By introducing the concept of e-commerce into live-streaming recruitment,
job positions are treated as products, and each resume submission is equivalent to a purchase order. When companies set up recruitment positions, they need to establish a price for each resume.
2. Standardizing the collaboration between companies and influencers, ensuring the security of commission payments and service quality. A wallet feature is implemented where recruiters must deposit funds to cover recruitment expenses. Once a recruitment position is set and published, the corresponding funds are frozen on the Kuaishou platform to ensure the recruiter has the necessary funds and will not default.
3. A wallet feature is implemented where recruiters must deposit funds to cover recruitment expenses. Once a recruitment position is set and published, the corresponding funds are frozen on the Kuaishou platform to ensure the recruiter has the necessary funds and will not default. A recruitment backend is set up where recruiters can monitor recruitment results in real-time and perform various actions on the positions (such as terminating the recruitment, updating job requirements, or increasing the number of positions).
Task Flow
The overall task is to "pay for explaining the job and recruiting in the live broadcast room".
I divided this task into several different stages:
· The first stage is to top up the wallet
· The second stage is to create new jobs
· The third stage is to recruit in the live stream
Stage 1: Top Up
Stage 2: Create new jobs(for distribution account)
Stage 3: Recruit in the live stream
Solutions
This project involves three platforms, each with different functions and restrictions.
Mobile App: wallet & live stream
Web page: wallet & job position management
PC software: livestream
Here some main flows:
Impact
The payment feature has received unanimous praise from both companies and influencers. Usability and enhanced security were highlighted as key advantages, leading to positive word-of-mouth and an increased adoption rate of the recruitment feature. The addition of the payment feature significantly impacted the usability and appeal of Kuaishou's recruitment platform. By addressing key issues related to transaction security and providing a streamlined process for recruiters and influencers, Kuaishou successfully enhanced user trust, increased engagement, and opened up new revenue opportunities.
1. Increased Trust and Security
The payment feature ensures that recruiters and influencers can conduct transactions securely on Kuaishou. This reduces the risk of fraud or non-payment issues that were previously a concern.
2. Higher Engagement and User Retention
The introduction of the payment feature led to an increase in the number of companies and influencers using the platform for recruitment. This not only boosted user engagement but also helped retain users who found value in the secure and efficient transaction process. The feature turned Kuaishou into more than just a content consumption platform; it became an essential tool for business operations.
3. Revenue Growth
By adding the payment feature, Kuaishou opened up new revenue streams. Companies are required to pay for job postings, and influencers can earn commissions directly through the platform, with Kuaishou taking a percentage from each transaction. This monetization strategy contributed to the overall revenue growth of the platform.
4. Streamlined Recruitment Process
The payment feature integrates job listings, influencer marketing, and secure transactions into one seamless experience, simplifying the recruitment process on Kuaishou. Companies can now easily manage their recruitment campaigns, track payments, and ensure that their recruitment goals are efficiently met.
